Guy Wills. New Image GM, with the Nutritional Company of the Year Award
New Image Group has been chosen as the New Zealand Nutritional Product Company of the Year.
It is one of 13 companies recognised in the Frost and Sullivan 2015 New Zealand Excellence Awards. Others included IT, software, industrial food processing, farm industry and pharmaceutical companies.
Andre Clarke, Country Manager, New Zealand at Frost & Sullivan says the global growth partnership firm endeavours to identify and spotlight companies that have delivered excellence in their respective industries.
“We believe it is important to highlight industry best practices and honour those who have accomplished noteworthy achievements. We hope that the recognitions will spur companies to share best practices and strive for greater heights as well as help them continue to do their best in growing their business,” he added.

AUCKLAND, New Zealand– Infant formula made from goat milk is finding a strong market in Mainland China, South East Asia and the Middle East for New Zealand’s New Image Group with help from Oete Farms.
New Image Group, through its subsidiary NIG Nutritionals, has also developed goat milk-based nutritional products for seniors and people with special health needs. The products have been trialled in different markets, including selected target groups in China. New Image is marketing through its distributor and partner networks and this month will show the products at the world’s largest baby fair, CBM Expo, in Shanghai in July.
The partnership between New Image and Oete was celebrated with an opening by New Zealand Minister of Food Safety Jo Goodhew of new facilities at its farm near Auckland. It currently runs 2,400 does, but Oete’s owners Matt and Sarah Bolton plan to increase production to more than 300,000 kg/milk solids a year, making it one of NZ’s largest producers.
New Image Group has proved to be among New Zealand’s most innovative, successful and exciting companies as a finalist in the 2015 Air NZ Cargo Auckland Export Awards.
The Auckland manufacturer of nutritional products is a finalist in the BDO Food & Beverage Exporter of the Year category, which recognises excellence in building extraordinary and sustainable export growth in the food and beverage sector.
New Image impressed the seasoned judging panel with its outstanding profitable and sustainable foreign exchange growth, quality planning, leadership and direction and excellence in export marketing.
Guy Wills, general manager of New Image Group, says it is pleasing to be ranked with leading exporters considering the tough conditions infant formula manufacturers like New Image have had to deal with in the past couple of years.
“China remains one of our leading markets, despite the fallout from various food scares outside of New Image’s control, and we thank our strong partners in China for helping us through those trying times,” Mr Wills says.
The winners of the Air NZ Cargo Auckland Export Award categories along with the Supreme Award winner, and the 2015 Export Champion will be presented at a gala dinner at the Langham hotel on Thursday June 18.
New Image Group is fully conversant with the NZ Police and the NZ Government’s cohesive and systematic response to a criminal threat to deliberately put the chemical 1080 into infant formula and other formula if 1080 is not withdrawn from use in New Zealand.
Together with other manufacturers of dairy-based products, New Image has been working cooperatively, ahead of the deadline given in the blackmail letters that issued the threat, to ensure consumers’ safety both in New Zealand and overseas.
New Image has reviewed all its procedures and is confident that its products at the time of manufacture or export continue to be safe to consume.
New Image General Manager Guy Wills was interviewed by China CCTV to discuss the importance of trade between China and New Zealand and the benefits of the Free Trade Agreement between China and New Zealand.
“So we see that the future is exceptionally bright and we’ll see continued growth and a relationship on many fronts between China and New Zealand,” New Image General Manager Guy Wills said.
